Grades will be posted that afternoon.
Have a wonderful summer!
Week of May 10th
You have made it to the end of the school year! This will be my last posting for the semester. It has been a crazy end to the semester, and I know many have found things stressful. An impressive number of you have kept working, kept raising your grade, and kept a positive attitude!
First priority this week is to check Synergy! Check to see if you have zeros that need to be replaced or test scores that need to be replaced. This is particularly important if you are 72% or below (Ds and Fs), or sitting on a 78, 79, 88, or 89. If you have a question about the best way to raise your grade, contact me! Not all grades are equal. The Quadratic and Exponential Functions retakes are still open! Take as many times as you need to for the grade you want.
As always, you can contact me if you are having difficulty with an assignment. I have been doing many one-on-one Zoom sessions to complete IXL or help review for the test retakes.
The new assignment this week is an EOC replacement test. It is EOC style questions and very hard! That being said, I encourage everyone to try it and at least see what the EOC questions are like. You will be taking the Geometry EOC next year! Everyone gets 3 attempts for their best grade. We will only be entering the grade if it helps you! Any score ABOVE your current average will help since the test would be 20% of your grade. It will NOT lower your current average – so do your best, but DO NOT STRESS OUT!
Go to joinmyquiz.com and enter code:748580
I am attaching a pdf of the test in case anyone would like to print it before trying to complete it on Quizizz. A viewable copy is on the Assignments tab. Those of you who are also using your phones as calculators may want to see the problems first. 😊

I have sincerely enjoyed teaching everyone this year. I have missed being in the classroom these last few weeks. Please come by and see me next year to say hello!

Mr. Williams and I have been posting grades done in the digital classroom. You should be able to see them now. Some of the Exponential Function grades were not entered as "new" grades, but went to supplementing or replacing earlier grades. For example, the Quizizz assessment replaced the Exponential functions quiz if it was higher.

If you finish quickly and would like a challenge, you can strive for a higher percentage, but IXL will be intentionally getting tricky! We are able to see your scores from the teacher page - you do not need to submit any work. While we will be taking grades and monitoring progress, teachers will NOT be putting grades into Synergy. We recognize that students will be impacted differently, and, for now, we will not be recording grades. This is an evolving process for an unprecedented situation. Please do not get stressed out! Reach out to me or Mr. Williams if you are having problems. Our contact information is below. The focus right now is on student learning, not assessment.
